2017.04.24 Week 46 - I'm loving this work

Was a great week to be a missionary. I'm loving this work and all the things that I am learning here.

This week we spent a lot of time in the heroin house. A house where we have a lot of investigators (with a lot of problems) But the good news is that Paola is going to get baptized on Saturday. She lives in the heroin house but really wants to get out. It is amazing to see how the gospel can change people. Her brother Walter got baptized about a month ago and is now helping all of his family to come unto Christ. He will be doing the baptism. You really do see a lot of miracles on a mission. It was just funny one of the times we visited this week. They were all acting kind of weird so we asked what was up, they just told us, "Cosas de la calle, cosas de la calle" (Things of the street) We just laughed and still don't know what had happened.

Also in my pictures I sent a bunch of weird ones. There is this one park called "Passage of the Woman" that has a bunch of weird statues, one day I tried to imitate them all.

Also my finger got cut one day and like professional nurses we had nothing, so I had a leaf tied around it all day.

We also have a few pics of what we like to call The 500 Pine-trees Resort. Real cute.

2017.04.17 Week 45 - Apostle

I cut my hair. I'm still happy about it, but I cut a lot off so we'll see next week.

President Nelson was GREAT. I saw my great friends. I love Hermana Barfuss a super lot, we want to be comps again.

The mission conference with President Nelson was super awesome. Super super awesome. Apostles have such a strong spirit, it is just crazy.

We learned a lot about the resurrection of Christ and all the times he has appeared after his death. It was super awesome. He had me stand up and answer a question and was just talking to me. It was the most amazing and embarrassing moment of my life. We also talked about how the gospel is the only light that will be left in the world. We have to let our lights shine, we can´t be neutral. As the world gets darker our lights will just get brighter.

He also gave an amazing blessing. He blessed us all with the things we would need to be successful missionaries. The desires to share the gospel, to choose the right, to be obedient, to share the gospel after our missions with our families and friends. It was super cool. The best part of the blessing is when he blessed us and more importantly our families with a blessing for the sick and afflicted. He gave a blessing of healing where he told us that if it was God´s will everyone in our families would be healed of any problems that they were having.

2017.04.10 Week 44 - For me it was funny

1. We walk past a group of 10/11 year old boys. They start practicing their English.
"Hi My name is Joaquin? And you?"
"Hi I'm Hermana Little."
"WHAT? I didn't understand ANY of that."
Then as we leave we just hear screaming and here comes the real English. " I LOBE UUUUU" It's always funny to hear the somewhat English comments. "Hello Baby" is pretty common.

2. I had to carry a giant dog out of church on Sunday. That's not actually unusual, but still funny.

3. We got one of our investigators to attend a baptism with us this week so we were super pumped. We show up to walk with her. She's in black heels and gold hambre leggings. And the best part, a t-shirt with Christ´s face printed on it. He's wearing a crown of thorns. It's all in black and white. But then his eyes are bright blue. It was super funny, I guess it's her usual church shirt.

4. All the members of the other ward here in Roca hate me because I laughed during the baptism. I'm just really sorry that the Elder slipped on the stairs into the font and just fell in. For me it was funny. That 3 seconds of laughing is apparently just completely inappropriate. Don't worry I already repented.

5. I spent some time this week sick. I puked a lot. It was a little weird because I noticed that I haven´t really puked in years. But don't worry parents, I remembered that FHE "How to Puke if You Are In Bed" lesson, and we didn't have any disasters.

BESOS (kisses) to you all. Have a great Easters.

2017.04.03 Week 43 - Laughing all week

GENERAL CONFERENCE. Just the bomb. Loved it, I hope you could all watch or listen and learn. The main thing that I really got out of conference is that we just have to give it all over to Christ. Sometimes we get overwhelmed with all that there is to do and we see that we haven't arrived at perfection yet. We see endless limitations and lots of problems. We put goals and don't arrive. We try to have faith and wonder why we have trials. In the end we just have to fortify our faith in Christ. There is only one way that we are going to arrive at perfection and it is through him. If we hand it all over he will take it all. I love this. I also loved the talks about diligence, we can't hand it all over to Christ then sit down and do nothing. If we are working to become better and trusting in Christ and in God's love, everything will work for our good.

This week we saw lots of miracles and met a lot of great people. We met a few families which is just the best. The families can really see their need for the gospel and can enjoy it better.

Funny Story of the Week:
As completely innocent missionaries we would obviously never read graffiti or anything like that because it's just bad. But we did learn a new word this week and decided to ask our district leader (who learned English from MTV) what it meant. We ask him and he just says while he is gasping for air laughing and scolding us for ever saying that word out loud, "BIG BALLS, in a REAALLLLY BAD WAY" So basically we have just been laughing all week about big balls in a really bad way.
